200 científicos de 22 países convertirán a Torrent en la capital mundial de la teledetección

Esta mañana, el Ayuntamiento de Torrent ha acogido la presentación de la cuarta edición del Congreso Internacional ‘RecentAdvances in Quantitative Remote Sensing’ que tendrá lugar en la capital de l’Horta Sud del 22 al 26 de septiembre. Durante la comparecencia han intervenido la alcaldesa, Amparo Folgado, así como el presidente del congreso y director de la Unidad de Cambio Global de la Universitat de València, José Antonio Sobrino, el director general de Universidades de la Generalitat, Felipe Palau, y el vicerector de Políticas de Formación y Calidad Educativa, Ramón López.

El congreso, que tendrá lugar en l’Auditori de Torrent, reunirá a 200 científicos de 22 países diferentes. Durante las cuatro primeras jornadas se presentarán 60 comunicaciones orales y 45 pósters diarios, reservando la última de las jornadas a la presentación de las conclusiones. El Congreso será íntegramente en inglés

El miércoles, 24 de septiembre, se celebrará un conferencia sobre Marte, a las 20.00 horas, que estará abierta al público.

The Symposium will highlight recent advances in methodological developments in order to ease scientific exchanges and discussions.

The Symposium will consist of 14 plenary sessions allowing about 50 papers plus 4 interactive posters sessions with 50 papers each. The total number of papers is limited to 250. The papers submitted will be subject to a selection process by the International Scientific Committee. The number of participants will be limited to about 250 in order to facilitate exchanges and discussions among the participants. The Symposium will end with a general concluding session prepared by the chairpersons and reporters of each session. The concluding statements will emphasise the key points of the presentations and outline trends in future research programmes.

Papers should deal in general with recent advances and applications of the different techniques and research methods used in remote sensing and in particular cover one or more of the following topics:

Land surface radiation and inversion modelling
Multispectral and hyperspectral Remote Sensing and Imaging Spectroscopy
Multiangular and Multitemporal measurements
Scaling, fusion, reduction and assimilation of data
Advances in consolidated datasets of Essential Climate Variables and their impact arising from the Climate Change Initiative
Carbon and Water cycle observation and modelling
Land cover/use and change
Global change and sustainable development
Sensor calibration, atmospheric correction, and product validation
Passive and actives microwaves & SAR data processing/ applications
Laser active remote sensing and fluorescence
Earth Observation Missions & Services
